I joined a London Based Scenic Sets studio to help prototype and fabricate a kinetic structure for a large-scale installation. My focus was on translating digital designs into precise laser-cut components and refining their movement through iterative testing. Using a mix of CAD, laser cutting, and hands-on assembly, I worked with the Scenic Sets team to achieve smooth, reliable motion, blending creative engineering with scenic craftsmanship.
Working as part of a small fabrication team, I used a mix of digital and physical tools, including Trotec laser cutters, precision hand-assembly, and custom jigs for repeat accuracy. Collaboration and fast problem-solving were key, as every adjustment affected the geometry and movement of the final mechanism.
